Family Day
After a very busy weekend of putting Christmas decorations away and cleaning out the garage we decided to have a family day today. It was such a nice and warm summer, I mean winter day :) Yes that's right it was in the 80's today! We went to eat at Applebee's, thanks to Aunt Lori's gift card. I know it was supposed to be for a date night, but we opted to use it today and save the movie passes for date night. Then we went to Frankie's Fun Park, which is a park with go carts, putt putt and games. It was so much fun just watching Kaitlyn's expression on the go carts! Now I just cant wait for Brayden to be a little bigger so he can ride too, poor little guy the only exciting ride he got to go on today was the changing table in the woman's bathroom. :)

Kaitlyn Loves to ride with her Daddy in his truck.
Kevin showing Kaitlyn how it is done.
Kaitlyn telling her brother all about it.
Christmas time in Charleston!
Christmas this year was so enjoyable! We really enjoyed having Tennia and Dan here and hope that next year we can have the whole family!! The festivities got kicked off Tue when Tennia and Dan arrived. Kaitlyn and Maw Maw made their Santa cookies and Kaitlyn I think ate more of the icing than ended up on her cookies. Then on Wed (thanks to Maw Maw and Papa Dan) we did a little last minute Christmas shopping. They each gave Kevin and I a set amount and let us go separately and pick out a surprise for each other. That had to be one of my favorite parts! Neither Kevin nor I am very good with surprises, but we really had fun with this one and think we will definitely keep it up! I absolutely LOVED what Kevin picked out for me....Thanks babe I love you! Then we went to the candle light service at our Church. Kaitlyn was full of excitement if you can imagine and she really enjoyed going to "big church" with Mommy and Daddy (FYI: Kaitlyn with fire not such a good idea on Mommy's part) Luckily we still have all of our hair and the church is still standing. Then it was home to get ready for Santa Claus! On the way home Kaitlyn saw Rudolph's flashing red nose in the sky (we didn't bother to correct her that it was actually an airplane). When we arrived home she quickly got ready for bed and with the last check at the computer to track Santa she was in bed and asleep faster than I thought! Christmas morning was full of opening presents, a wonderful meal and then naps all around. I had such a great time, cant wait to do it again!
Just a few shots of Brayden I liked (I think he is getting too big for his swing now)

Getting into something I'm sure!
Santa cookies!

The concentration :)
Brayden wanted to help too...

Holiday Festival of Lights
Every year one of the county parks puts on a holiday festival. It is actually a lot of fun and we have gone the last couple of years. This year was of course Brayden's first year and we were able to get the kids picture made with Santa. It turned out really cute and the weather was actually cool enough that we felt like roasting marshmallows by the big bonfire. All in all it was a really fun family night!
Before we left (Kevin didn't want his picture taken).....
Kaitlyn cant wait to go see the lights!
Some of the lights driving through.....
You can also park and they have several things you can do. They also have someone come in and do a large sand sculpture that is different every year.

Random Happening
Random happening of the day.......
An Earthquake.....who knew? I thought with living in Charleston we had more of a chance getting hit by a hurricane than an earthquake, but goes to show you never know what is going to happen. Here is what the local news Live 5 said about the quake today:
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The National Weather Service has confirmed a 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Lowcountry on Tuesday around 7:45 am.
According to reports, there was a loud rumble, followed by a violent shake. Many residents report being woken up, and their entire home shaking during the tremor.
There have not been any reports of damage or injuries from the quake.

Christmas card
I like to send and receive the picture Christmas cards every year. I think it is neat to compare it to previous years cards and see how different everyone looks or how big kids have gotten. Well, this weekend we took the picture that will be on the front of our card. As cute as our card turned out I found it very difficult to get "the" picture. I never had it down to take pictures with both kids in the first place, but now that Brayden is mobile it is even more difficult. Here are a few pictures you wont see on the card, but were too cute not to post.
First attempt......

And second......
And a third (look how hard Kaitlyn is trying to hold Brayden down and smile at the same time)...

First attempt......
And second......
New pose for the next try, not such a good idea when Bray's favorite thing to do is grab Kaitlyn's hair!
Kaitlyn was such a trooper!! And surprisingly we were able to get a really good picture, but you'll have to wait to see it :)
