I hate Walmart for so many reasons. Usually because I can go there for a light bulb and walk out $150 later with no light bulb, but on this particular day it was for some MUCH unneeded stress. On Wednesdays I have a group of girls come over for dinner and a bible study. Well, last Wednesday I was in charge of making salad. Having forgot my salad fixings the last time I went to Walmart (one of those $150 trips) I very quickly straightened the house and was going to "run" into Walmart and grab the things I needed. And of course you know with me and two kids there is no such thing as quickly! I was rushing Kaitlyn through the doors when she said "Mommy I need to go potty" taking a deep breath I replied "Kaitlyn are you sure?" see Kaitlyn loves to see public bathrooms, but has a fear of using the kind that automatically flush. (She's been flushed on while still seated a couple of times). When she came back with a yes, I immediately went into panic mode knowing that our time had just now been cut in half. With Brayden in the cart and Kaitlyn riding on the front we run our way to the very back of the store to use the potty. Grabbing the diaper bag, cell phone, keys and shopping cart cover for Brayden we all rushed into the bathroom not realizing until Kaitlyn says "Mommy why are the pottys so big?" that we had entered the men's room! AGHH!
With the bathroom incident behind us our shopping trip seemed to be going smoother. We made our way to the produce section. Which is where I spotted a lady who had her two kids shopping with her and they each had their own little carts. It was so cute, and thinking I could also be "that" mom I decided to let Kaitlyn pick out the tomatoes and put them in the buggy. She was so excited, a little too excited because when she put them in the basket she sort of threw them sending little cherry tomatoes rolling all the way to the bananas!
Tomatoes (luckily) were the last thing on our list and you would think the story ended there. But, nope I went to the cashier checked out and quickly walked away.....leaving my bag behind!
Needless to say that is the last time I have made a "quick" stop by Walmart with both kids. Next time I will allow plenty of time to triple check the name on the bathroom door and to explain to Kaitlyn that lids on veggie containers can come open.
Sorry I don't have a picture to go along with this blog, I didn't think to take my camera into the bathroom as well :)
Have a good weekend!

Crawling? Rolling Over?
Okay, so Brayden shows us more and more every day that he is not going to be the wound up crazy child that Kaitlyn is. He is going to be more laid back just like his daddy. I began to wonder that it seemed like Kaitlyn was rolling over by now so I went to look in her baby book and she was....she started rolling over at 3 months! Although, the baby books and Brayden's pediatrician told me that it is normal that he has not started to roll over yet and to not be worried still I try and try every day for a roll and all I get is this.......
Are you ready for some football?!?!?
There are two teams that hold our hearts and our cheers and that would be of course the Alabama Crimson Tide (I think it was in our wedding vows some where) and then the Dallas Cowboys. I remember being a little girl and watching the games with my Daddy and wishing so hard that one day I would grow up and become a Cowboys cheerleader....well that one didn't happen, LOL! Any ways this post is dedicated to those two teams, even though we have seen some rough years (and we stayed fans) it is going to be a fun year to watch them both!!

Firsts
We have had a couple of firsts lately. Kaitlyn school and Brayden green beans!

Kaitlyn's first day of preschool. I can say I didn't cry even though I really wanted to. It wasn't so much because she was going and I wouldn't be with here during the day like I am used to as much as it was the thought of her growing up. Kindergarten is just in 1 1/2 more years and then high school and college! I cant take it so for now we are sticking with preschool. She loves her school and the teachers are great. She had really good behavior the first week and was awesome during chapel. Way to go baby girl I am so proud of you!
Speaking of growing up Brayden has now hit the 6 month mark! I can not believe 6 months have already gone by. Half way to a year :( He had his first "bites" of green beans and just wasn't too sure about them. It made for some really cute faces though. Since then we have moved on to peas, squash and carrots. A favorite so far I would have to say the squash, but that may all change once we start in on the fruits considering this is the boy who gave me the craving of eating a dozen crispy creme donuts (in one sitting) while I was pregnant. I have a feeling he is going to have such a sweet tooth. Those pictures to come I'm sure.
Sweet Home Alabama
Well, it seems as if I have not blogged lately, not for lack of things to say because we have definitely had plenty going on. With our much needed trip to AL, Kaitlyn's first day of preschool, Brayden saying Mama and all the days in between. But just haven't quite found the time to sit and think lately. So to try and catch everyone up I am going to do a series of posts and include some much awaited photos of our #1 and #2 reasons why I blog. So to start off: Our trip to Alabama (Perfect place to insert a Roll Tide!)

With our fearless leader in charge we were actually making good time.
Which is why we stared at this for over an hour......
and this which didn't seem to bother Kevin too much :)
Until finally we were out of the stand still traffic jam and were on our way.
Yea we made it! Being in Alabama was so nice. Tennia was having a "big" birthday and we were coming to surprise her and to be at her surprise birthday party. Yes double whammy! She had no idea, which I am really proud of all of us for actually pulling it off! We were at Lori's when she came over to meet her for "lunch" and to get her present which was a bench for her front porch. And there we were! Happy birthday Tennia!
We saw a lot of family that we hadn't seen in a while, it was really nice to see everyone. We swam in the pool, watched Alabama kick some booty, went for a ride on a carousel, went to a Dora pep rally (which Kaitlyn LOVED it meant CANDY!) and many other really great things while we were there. All in all it was a really great trip and we cant wait to go back.
Here are a few more pics from our Alabama trip, thanks to everyone for having us!
